Proroute H900 4G Router

Our best 4G Router for small office use are the Huawei B535-333 and B818 Routers. These 4G routers provides high speed 4G Mobile Broadband connectivity using the latest CAT 4G modem technology, CAT13 and CAT19, and deliver this high speed 4G Internet connectivity to the wired and wireless users with High Speed Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and 802.11ac WiFi.

Many customers ask why they would not be better off with a more industrial grade router, like the majority of the 4G routers that we offer for sale. The answer is like comparing purchasing a truck or van for your family car. Whilst it will get you from A to B it will not be very practical as a family car, however a truck or van is brilliant for moving goods from A to B. Likewise, most office users will want particular features from their 4G router and usually these are fast internet speed and fast Ethernet and WiFi speeds and that is exactly why we recommend the Huawei B535 4G Router, because it offers both of these, whereas an industrial grade 4G router does not need super fast 4G or WiFi because it is generally used for remote management and monitoring at remote locations and the key requirements for this are reliability of connection so that when the mobile network drops the connection, it can reconnect without the engineer having to drive to site to power it off and on to get it to reconnect, whereas if the mobile network disconnects the office 4G router it is very easy to power it off and on because (we presume) there will be somebody there who uses the router in the office.

The next most common request is for a dual SIM 4G router, again our industrial 4G routers have the dual SIM feature so that they can fail-over to a backup network SIM card in the event that the primary network becomes unavailable – this provides resilience, again to prevent costly downtime and site visits to swap SIM cards, so if you definately have to have this feature so you don’t have to walk up to your office router, pop out the sim card and insert a new SIM card then of course you could use an M2M router with the dual SIM card feature to do this for you but then you should be prepared for slower 4G connectivity and slower Ethernet and WiFi connectivity the rest of the time you are using the industrial 4G router just so you don’t have to swap the SIM card occasionally.

We hope this helps explain why you should use the Huawei B535 or B818 4G router for your office 4G Internet instead of an industrial 4G router.

4G Antennas

The Huawei B535 and B818 4G Routers have built-in antennas which will provide great 4G signal reception in most circumstances when the router is positioned in a location where it can receive a 4G mobile network signal. The B535 does have a panel at the rear that can be removed to expose 2 x SMA 4G Antenna connectors so you can connect a different 4G antenna should the need arise. The Huawei B818 has a panel at the rear which can be removed to expose 2 x TS-9 connectors. Most antennas come terminated with SMA ends therefore we offer converters for the B818 here.

We have included a selection of compatible 4G antennas on this page and accessories – however we must point out that these are not booster antennas – don’t just buy an antenna thinking that it will boost your 4G speed – the reason you would use an external 4G antenna is because you might install the router in a location with poor signal (indoors) but have a better signal outdoors where you intend to install the antenna.

We also sell antenna extension cables – but remember a longer cable length will reduce the signal strength so only extend the cable if the antenna is in a location with a far better signal than the router. The recommended antennas are MIMO antennas so are provided with 2 x 5m cables so if you purchase antenna extension cables then please remember to order two extension cables.
